
Elena Chouliara

Elena Chouliara was born in Athens. She holds a degree from the Faculty of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from ALBA Graduate Business School.
Her 20-year career in the pharmaceutical industry began at Novo Nordisk, where she held positions of increasing responsibility at an international level. She joined the management team of AstraZeneca Greece in 2011, and through a series of leadership roles, she contributed significantly to the expansion of the company’s portfolio in strategically important therapeutic areas, including Cardiovascular, Diabetes, Respiratory, and Oncology treatments. Since December 2016, she has held the position of President and Managing Director of AstraZeneca Greece & Cyprus. In this role, she actively contributed to the national response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Greece and supported the implementation of the national vaccination program.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of the PhARMA Innovation Forum, where she advocates for innovation, development, and the access of Greek patients to safe and effective medicines—creating value for both the Greek economy and society.
