She also noted that, amid rapid international developments in the sector, Greece has no room for further delay in\u00a0establishing\u00a0a coherent and sustainable pharmaceutical policy and must act\u00a0immediately,\u00a0stating:\u00a0<strong><em>\u201cWe call for the immediate adoption of measures that will accelerate patients\u2019 access to necessary treatments. The establishment of a pharmaceutical policy framework that rewards innovation is more critical than ever today.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ms. Calie Sharman, General Manager of Ipsen for Greece, Cyprus, Malta &amp; Israel<\/strong>, emphasized that innovation is not distributed equally and requires flexibility in assessment and reimbursement, especially in rare diseases with high unmet need and limited data.\u00a0<strong><em>\u201cThe sustainability of healthcare systems is achieved through long-term planning, collaboration, and the utilization of innovation for the benefit of patients, not through short-term interventions.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mr.\u00a0George\u00a0Orthopoulos, Commercial Country Lead of Amgen Greece<\/strong>, referring to orphan diseases, highlighted the gap created when the system does not reflect the value of innovation:\u00a0<strong><em>\u201cAccess to new therapies should be treated as an indicator of the quality and resilience of a healthcare system.
